The Armed Forces
A Sisters Opinion

Talking with my brother the other night and getting an email from him made me know I have to say outloud something that I have known was true but deep down hoped & believed that it will not be that way. That when we give justice to the people responsible for attacking America, American soldiers are going to die. Plain & simple. Mothers are going to loose there sons & daughters, brothers & sisters are going to loose their siblings. Wifes & husbands are going to loose there spouses & children are going to loose there parents. I do not believe in going to war for something that is petty is right & it is not justified by any means. But there are things that are worth going to war for and the attack on September 11, 2001 is one of them. War is not right, but there are times when it is the only way possible to solve something or to make it clear that the action that started it will not be tolerated. I have received many emails from people but only one pointing out that the men & women that serve in our Armed Forces will die for us. That is to be commended and we should be thankfull to them & that there are people out there that are willing to fight & loose their lives for a way of life that many Americans before have died for. I know I am thankfull & commend every past Soldier, both dead & alive, & the soldiers to come that will do the same. Let your family & loved ones know, know that they are loved and that you will miss them if they are ever taken from us. Garth Brooks "If Tomorrow Never Comes" says it all. For some will be taken, not only from their families, but from the American Family. A family that I am proud to be a part of. Thank you to those countries & citizens that have come forward & let us Americans know we are special & that what was done was awful & unjust. Watching on the television the reaction from the eastern countries, when they cheered at our loss, that was hard for me to watch. But also seeing the other Nations come forward and there citizens cry for us. Let us know that we are not alone out there, that is a feeling I do not know how to describe. I heard on a local talk show, I assumed to not be an American citizen, go on about how we do not do anything special when there are terrorist attacks in other countries and that we do not give it a second thought. Well if that person or anyone else that thinks that sees this, know this, I do feel for there country when the bombings go on in Ireland, when there are terrorist attacks in Britian and every other country. I cry for those people and know that they have got to be some of the strongest people out there in this world of ours to pick up and go on. I never in my life time thought it would happen here. The bombing in Oklahoma, it seems almost different to me than this. Yes devastating beyond belief, but Timothy McVeigh was an American. The people responsible for this are not. One man called my local talk show and said that we should just pull out of the middle east & let them dimolish themselves. If we were to do that & people like Binladen were to take over, we would be up against a force to reckon with. Then how many Americans would die? A lot more than what will happen now. It is a lesser of 2 evils situation. We can't pull out now. I'd much rather have a war that they initiated on there soil, if they want to blow things up and kill people for no reason then damn them, they can have it on there soil and they can obliterate there own land. I do hope that for those who know Military pass this on to them, because I am thinking of each & every one of you. That you are not forgotten and will always be in my memory and my heart, that you made the one choice that could get you killed, I commend you for it. May God be with you and bless you all. You will not be forgotten. God willing there will only be a few lost, albeit a few too many.
